One more reason for unions to be criminalized

Need a job?
Willing to live in the big city and work at Carnegie Hall or the Lincoln Center moving chairs and props around?
You can be a stagehand if you know the right folks and one of the existing hands dies or retires.
Would you be more willing if you knew that the average stagehand's compensation was $290K (wages and benefits) or that the top hands get $530K?
You may not have heard of these benefit packages because the stagehands have shut down theaters before and have shown a great willingness to do it again (it gets easier when you have a money cushion to lie on that the musicians and other performers trying to get by don't).
Few people who perform in these venues will speak out against the powerful unions for fear of reprisal.
When people fear the unions to the point where it is hard to find someone who works with them willing to openly comment on their exorbitant compensation, you know it is time to tear them down and seal them in the dustbin of history.

NY to outlaw rude behavior?

New Yorkers are known (right or wrong) for rudeness.
The stereotype of a New York construction worker consists of rude whistles, lewd propositions, and catcalls.
Yes it is wrong.
So are a lot of other behaviors.
But NYC is actually considering outlawing such behavior.

Let's establish a dialog to end hatred

That is what the people proposing to open a Gay Bar next to the controversial mosque site in New York City.
Using the words of the mosque's backers, the Bar backers insist it is the best way to engage in a dialog to end Islamic hatred for homosexuals.
The proposed Bar would have a floor dedicated to the alcohol free lifestyle of Gay Muslim men.

Luke, give me all the money!

Darth Vader robbed a New York bank.
Apparently everyone thought it was a joke until he pulled out a rather conventional weapon (a semi-auto pistol) and demanded money.
I guess we still have a way to go before we catch up to European bank security where many banks won't even let you in the door with a mask on.

If you haven't heard of the Naked Cowboy, you must have been residing in a cave over the last decade (or lucky enough to avoid the more lowbrow news items used as filler by the networks).
Well, now there is a Naked Cowgirl and the Cowboy isn't amused.
Robert Burck (the Cowboy's real name) has sent a cease and desist order to Sandy Kane (the Naked Cowgirl) claiming that her act's name is too similar to his and that she must pay a franchise fee if she wishes to continue.
After viewing Ms. Kane's photo, I think she owes him and anyone else that saw her in this outfit a sincere apology.

Kane claims that she owes Burck nothing.
