"Christmas Tree" bomber thwarted by feds

A Somali born naturalized citizen attempted to detonate a van bomb at a tree lighting ceremony in Portland Oregon on Friday.
Mohamed Osman Muhamud (whose name will be only reluctantly given by most of the press) believed that he had a van full of explosives that would be set off by cell phone.
When he dialed the number, waiting FBI agents arrested him.
He was yelling "Allahu Akbar!" as he was taken away.
Muhamud came to the FBI's attention when he began communicating with an "associate" located in Pakistan via e-mail.
The FBI pretended to be another associate of the first contact and took over communication with Muhamud, eventually providing him with fake explosives and watching him for many months prior to the arrest.
One damning act by this Yahoo is the stereotypical Jihad video he made.

Assassins miss killing Iranian President

Iran's President has survived an assassination attempt by what appears to be an internal opposition group.
A bomb was thrown at his motorcade and damaged a car carrying journalists, injuring several.
No one else was injured and one person has been arrested.
Iran is blaming Israel, which is a joke.
Israel would have hired better help and we would have provided better training.
Better luck next time, I hope.

Update: Iran is now claiming it was just a firecracker.

Donkey bomb fails

Call PETA. They need to head to the Gaza border to protect the poor donkeys from terrorists.
A Syrian backed group took credit for detonating a cart full of explosives near the border checkpoint, killing only the donkey and injuring no one.
This is an appalling and callous crime against a poor, defenseless animal and it has to stop!
Get a bunch of animal rights activists and drop them into the Gaza strip.

Pakistani Taliban take credit for NY bomb that bombed.
A tape found on a Muslim site claims that Taliban operatives are responsible for the failed SUV bomb in Times Square over the weekend.
Though no details of the actual bomb or SUV were offered, the speaker claims the bomb is revenge for the killing of Baitullah Meshud and that they have delivered a "jaw breaking" blow to the great satan.
How embarrassing to gloat over a bomb that fizzled.
I bet the guys down at the local Mosque are really giving the spokesman a hard time for that.
