If we lay off cops we get less service, right?

In an era where cops and firemen are threatened by politicians in order to guilt us into paying higher taxes and first responders are actually getting laid off, we are led to expect lower levels of service.
The belief is that small crimes will be ignored in order to spend resources on more important work.
So why are New Jersey cops on the docks in Bayonne spending time and money on a crime that is very small potatoes and apparently solved?
Your guess is as good as mine.

Time to rein in unions

If you needed a clear picture of why Unions need to be severely restricted and held to a higher standard, read this story.
It is bad enough that unions have saddled us with crushing debt through unfunded pension liabilities while guaranteeing themselves early retirements and unbelievable job security while garnering compensation far in excess of similar jobs in the private sector.
But even worse is the pervasive attitude of power and entitlement.
When unions think it is acceptable for them to shut down transportation and vital supplies in order to secure insulation from real world difficulties (thereby doubling the pain of those on the hook for their comfortable lifestyle), they show how incredibly dangerous they have become.

Union leaders and thugs who commit or allow crimes like those being committed in Europe and in the Mediterranean, should be jailed for their actions.

Sumo scandal over Pete Rose style gambling

The world of Sumo is in a big, fat turmoil over a big betting scandal that has come to light.
30% of the top tier of wrestlers and elders (some on the Japan Sumo Association board) are being scrutinized for allegedly betting big bucks on sports (primarily baseball).
Sumo was just starting to recover from a hazing incident that ended with the death of a 17 year old and the current scandal is feared to harm it's reputation in ways that may not be repairable.
Worst of all is the revelation that the sport has become deeply involved with the yakuza.
Who didn't see that coming?

Census Chaos

You knew it was coming.
So many of the people the Democrats rely on for ignorance based voting, and many passive aggressives on the right have not filled out and returned their forms and that means hundreds of thousands of people are out on the streets knocking on doors for answers.
Some of them are casing houses and people for criminal activity.
Some of them end up as crime victims.
Then there are the fake census workers that commit home invasions.

When crime statistics show black Americans disproportionally arrested; attacked; or victimized, the media has fits.
When Orientals are the victims and the criminals are black?
No problem here!
Just "youths" taking advantage.
Nice to see the city protecting productive, law abiding taxpayers, rather than providing a sanctuary for illegal invaders.

Who's running the asylum?

First we have a Liquor Commissioner fired for a DUI arrest.
He refused to take the Breathalyzer test and was actually termed out, but retained by the "Governor's will".

Then we have a Sex Crimes Unit head arrested for a sex crime.
BTW liquor was part of the crime as he had been drinking prior to the assault where he followed the victim into the restroom.

Who hired these people for these positions and who was their manager (I guess we can blame the Governor in the first case)?
