Bad news for the left: The oil spill disaster that wasn't

Even though the Gulf spill is a disaster, it is looking more and more like it is not nearly as dire as the newsies and the anti-oil folks would like us to think.
Many fewer birds, reptiles, and mammals have been found dead along the coast than were found after the Exxon Valdez spill and most of them are not "oiled".
Marshes along the coast have stopped oil from penetrating more than a few feet into the marsh.
River flows have pushed oil out to sea, warmer weather and lighter oil have led to greater dispersal and earlier breakup.
Bacteria have been more successful due to better conditions and oil is really getting hard to find.

So, if this turns out to be a tempest in a teapot, will the doomsayers apologize and clamor for more drilling?
Don't hold your breath.

Big Chinese oil spill not news

Once again, our media prove to be enemies of truth and extremely unbalanced.
The Chinese have suffered an explosion and big oil spill and our media sees nothing.
More than 70 square miles of coastal waters have been covered in oil.
This is worse than the gulf spill because it started on the shoreline with no time to prepare.

Update: China's spill still grows and officials claim they are not equipped to handle the devastation. The size of the spill has doubled to 165 square miles and at least one worker was killed as a wave washed him from the boat he was working on.

More proof of Liberal "tolerance"

Liberals are always portraying themselves as tolerant, inclusive, forgiving, blah, blah, blah...
We know better when we see stories like this where a judge merely follows the law after the administration ignores it and the judge gets death threats.

I know.
The left will say that they get death threats too.
They get very few and many times seem to not have saved the e-mail, letter, or voice-mail.
Color me suspicious.

Beaches recovered from 1979 spill

The press won't run this story in prime time because it doesn't fit their meme.
Texas beaches that were covered with up to 15 inches of crude were clean and beautiful not long after the spill caused by the Mexican Ixtoc blowout.
You might even argue that the spill help one species by almost killing it off.
The sea turtles were hurt badly and were provided with much stronger protections after the spill, which helped bring them back from a weak position that already existed prior to the spill.
In fact, you might use the wildfire argument in this case: If you continue to prevent fires, the protected area becomes weak and primed for greater damage because it has not suffered a natural stressor's effects.
Oil always seeps and our drilling and protections result in much less exposure, limiting nature's response in the same way a lack of exposure to disease results in a weaker immune system.
One thing that Texas did after the Ixtoc spill that was smarter than the current response is concentrate on the river mouths and wetlands instead of the beaches.
If only they would do that now with their limited resources, but history is ignored by a public and leadership addicted to mainstream media as an information source.

Will Natalie Maines apologize for Obama?

The Brits have had enough of Obama's juvenile behavior and misplaced blame.
The mayor of London for one has asked that he stop doing so much to depress the price of BP stock because it hurts British pensioners (I wonder if they ever worried about that when they bashed this corporation or that, themselves).
Well, I have to agree with them.
O-blame-a needs to get off his high horse and stop doing all those things he told the kiddies they should not do.
After her heartfelt apology for, then to George Bush after telling a British audience she was ashamed he was from her home state of Texas, Natalie Maines may be the perfect pick to apologize to the Brits for Obama's behavior.

BTW; she took back her apology to Bush, saying he deserved "no respect whatsoever"

Gulf coast disaster ignored by Hollywood?

Haiti got immediate attention and charity events, Katrina (New Orleans) provoked much angst and charity events.
The Gulf oil spill, not so much.
Where are the commercials begging for help?
Where are the celebrities demanding more from our government?
Where are Sean Penn and his boat posse?

Some celebs on the B-list are trying to help: "Last week, Lenny Kravitz, Mos Def, John Legend and others took part inGulf Aid, a fundraising concert held in New Orleans, which producer Ben Jaffe says raised $350,000 for fishing families and wetlands restoration. Louisiana native and actor Ian Somerhalder, who earned moderate fame as one of the first major characters to get the boot during season one of "Lost," filmed a few PSAs for the Audubon Institute..."

Is that all?
Is that the best they can do?
I guess it is to be expected. They and the media pretty much ignored Katrina damage east of Louisiana and it appears they will do it again. .

BP got a pass from the administration

While Barack Obama was pushing Healthcare, adding CO2 to the list of pollutants, dissing our friends and bowing to enemies; his administration rubber stamped BP's drilling operation in the gulf.
BP should have been subject to a detailed environmental impact examination and analysis, but was given a pass after both BP and the Interior department decided the worst case scenario would have involved only a few thousand gallons of crude.

Once again; say it with me: "If it were Bush, they would be screaming!"

Gibbs Issues Mega Whine

Oh my goodness!
The White House press secretary has an amazingly thin skin and no idea of what it is like to be a conservative politician or spokesperson.
Mr. Gibbs gets testy with Wendell Goler of Fox News over an interview with Mike (Katrina) Brown, former head of FEMA.
How many times have we had to watch and/or listen to anti-conservative people interviewed by the leftist media and lie badly without "pushback" or later correction?
