Put your butter on eBay

Norway had a shortfall of butter production that was exacerbated by a diet fad using more fats.
Butter now costs ~$300/lb!
When a poor Russian entrepreneur tried to help the Norwegians out, he was stopped at the border for smuggling.
I guess the government in Norway wants Christmas to suck.

Saab story

Swedish automobile company Saab cannot pay its workers.
Company spokesmen claim that they are not headed to bankruptcy and the company is working hard to solve it's problems.
One possible savior is Russian investor Vladimir Antonov who was, ironically, pushed out when GM rescued Saab during an earlier financial crisis.

One of the worker's unions has 'sent a letter' to the company to urge them to pay the workers.
I'm sure that will spur them to greater efforts.

Spy swap avoids probe of Hillary fundraiser

When the Russian spies were swapped (for non-Americans) at light speed, people wondered why.
I suspected it had something to do with Democrats not wanting the press or the courts taking too close a look at who these folks dealt with and it appears that was the case.
A Hillary Clinton fundraiser was apparently involved with these guys and that may only be the tip of the iceberg.

Russian Bombers nothing to worry about?

The Russians are sending bombers near our airspace and our government claims that it is only an attempt to maintain an "illusion of power".
Admiral James A. Winnefeld Jr. claims that "we" aren't really worried and don't intercept every flight as that would "feed into their propaganda".
I guess the Admiral has no understanding of propaganda.
If we ignore the incursions, they will claim we are afraid or cannot afford to defend ourselves.
Protection is more important than propaganda.

I am sure that the Admiral's assurances will be a great comfort to the survivors if the "illusion" of actual attack occurs.

About time!

Georgians have removed a statue of Stalin from a square in his home town of Gori which was hard hit during the recent criminal Russian military action.
The removal occurred in the middle of the night without any announcement and reporters were kept away (even reportedly beaten).
I disagree with the sneaking, middle-of-the-night method used in this removal but at least they did the deed.
The statue is to be moved to a museum in the same town.
If the statue is to be totally removed at some future date they can send it to Berkeley, CA where it will be received with open arms.
